This Tuesday we are excited about having The Dead Licks in the studio playing live and chatting about their new record! They will join us in an expanded edition of YTAA at the 7pm hour! So, join us at 3pm as usual and hang out a little longer as we become Your Tuesday Evening Alternative until 8pm!
You can check out their sound on the terrific music on their Soundcloud page!

In indie music, 2017 has been a great year for music so far and there is no reason to expect it to slow down. We are enjoying new music from Smug Brothers, Son Volt, The Rallies, Guided by Voices, Mark Cantwil, Tashaki Miyaki, Ha Ha Tonka, Spoon, Folk is People, Scott Swain, Al Holbrook, Dreamsalon, Hater, The Magnifiers, Dude York, and The New Pornographers — to just name a few.
We are still listening to tunes from last year from artists like Bleached, Shrug, Mike Adams at his Honest Weight, and Me Time. Again, there is so much more but those CDs and EPs are constantly fighting for space in our CD player! This year we are making a real effort to not only discover great new music to share with you but also to bring musicians into the studio. It is far too easy to get stuck, to limit yourself and simply do the same thing over and over.

Our hope with Your Tuesday Afternoon Alternative is to break out of the same day, same songs, same plan approach to radio and introduce new music and new songs to our listeners. And you can help! If there are songs or artists that we should be playing, let us know. Contact us here or email us at drjwudr at gmail!
Even if you do not make any suggestions, please consider joining us every Tuesday from 3-6pm for YTAA and on occasional Tuesdays until 8pm and stay a little later with us as we have performers come into the performance studio and play for all of us.

It was a rare treat to have Tod Weidner in the WUDR studios so we have to share a few more photos with all of you! All photos courtesy of Gabrielle Elizabeth Studios.

On March 28, Charlie Jackson joined us in the studio for an interview! He played several terrific songs. Enjoy!
This Tuesday we have a real treat for all of you music lovers! Tod Weidner (Shrug, Motel Beds) will be on the show playing some live music during the second hour of YTAA. While Tod has been a guest on the show before we have not had the pleasure of having him play some songs for us from the performance studio. The new Shrug album ‘Age of Ashes’ is a brilliant record and we are very excited about having Tod in the performance studio to play and talk about his music and upcoming shows with us.
If that was not enough musical goodness… around 6pm we are going to have Charlie Jackson in the performance space to play and chat. We have been playing some of his songs for a while and they are terrific! If you are not up on Charlie’s great songs… well, that one’s on you because we have been playing them on YTAA.
So, you have no excuses! None. Zip on the rationalizations. Join us tomorrow for an expanded edition of Your Tuesday Afternoon Alternative from 3-8pm for some terrific new music and live performances from Tod Weidner and Charlie Jackson. That happy feeling that you have right now is because you are excited about this show. See you tomorrow beginning at 3pm on wudr.udayton.edu or 99.5 and 98.1fm in Dayton!

We want to wish Mike Connell a happy birthday and what better way to do that than to play some music from The Connells today on the radio show!
This week on YTAA we will be joined by Tim Pritchard of The Boxcar Suite! Tim will be in studio to talk about the band’s new EP Life on the Limb and their upcoming show on April 1st at the legendary Trolley Stop as well as the next full length record the band is work on! Plus Tim will play a few songs in our performance studio! So, tune into the show this week — 99.5 and 98.1 fm in Dayton and online at wudr.udayton.edu as we all get to hear terrific music from The Boxcar Suite along with tons of new music! Tweet us questions to ask Tim at twitter.com/drjwudr! See you all soon!

You know the drill. Its Tuesday. Time for another Your Tuesday Afternoon Alternative on WUDR from 3-6pm!
Today on YTAA we are featuring the indie power pop of The Turnback! Their new record, Are We There Yet? has the perfect combination of solid rock melody, deft harmonies, and well written lyrics backed up with a solid guitar, bass, and drums attack! Goldmine has a terrific review that we could not agree with more!
All too often music curmudgeons lament the end of rock and roll – there is nothing to get excited about anymore. Do these folks have ears? With bands like, The Turnback, we say that rock and roll is alive and well. We love the sound of ‘Five Days a Week’,’July’, and ‘A Place for Me’. And the addition of The Beatles cover ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ that moves past the psychedelia of the original and pulls out the core of that song with a Smithereens-garage rock sound that was deeply hidden in that classic track – we say that rock and roll is not just safe but full of energy!
Join us this Tuesday as we talk with members of The Turnback about their latest and most impressive album to date!
