Big Star Film in Wide Release

Big Star ImageThe highly anticipated film about the amazing band Big Star, Nothing Can Hurt Me, is now in wide release.  Or at least as much as a film about a brilliant yet tragic and influential indie band could ever be in theaters.  Many writers have commented on the film and we have collected a few of those reviews here.  Once we see this movie, you can expect our review on Your Tuesday Afternoon Alternative!  If you have a review of the film that you would like to share, let us know at drjwudr at gmail!

This Tuesday we will be talking to Gorman Bechard, the filmmaker who created Color Me Obsessed about the Replacements, about his current   project — Every Everything, the music, life & times of Grant Hart!

This week we will be playing music from Sohio, Ra Ra Riot, The Moulters, Divine Fits, Lightouts, The Bengsons, The Mayflies USA, Grant Hart, Italian Japanese, Major Major Major, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Decade Runners, Cub, The Coathangers, Vanity Theft, King Elk, and much more! You should expect some classic indie from Love and Rockets!

We will also premier a brand new tune from Fire at Night! If that was not enough we have the broadcast premier of The Vains with an acoustic version of ‘Stitches.”

Remember to tune in for some great music and a terrific interview with an exciting documentary filmmaker for an afternoon of indie radio as Your Tuesday becomes Alternative with Dr. J and Mrs. Dr. J on WUDR!
